April 2 - April 5

I hope everyone is having a great Spring Break!
Report Cards were sent home the Thursday before Spring Break. If you have not signed and returned your child's report card, please do as as soon as possible!
Registration for Kindergarten begins Monday, April 2nd. If you know anyone who needs to register their child for Kindergarten, please let them know of this date! You may also request 1st Grade teachers for your child next year. You have to come to the school to request!
When we return from Spring Break, we will continue our Easter unit. On Thursday, April 5th, we will be having our Easter Egg Hunt and party. The room mom's will contact you about the party if you signed up to help during Parent Report Night. For the egg hunt, each child needs to provide 18 candy-filled eggs. Please do not use chocolate candy as these eggs will be hidden outside and the chocolate will melt. Please also make sure the candy is individually wrapped. We also ask for each child to send in $1. Teachers will get Easter baskets for each child, and the $1 is used to cover the cost of the basket. Please have your child's eggs and $1 turned in no later than Wednesday, April 4th! If you would like to help hide the eggs, please meet at our classroom at 12:00. We will come down at 12:30 to begin the egg hunt. We will start our party after the egg hunt.
Friday, April 6th is a weather day, so we do not have school!
On Tuesday, April 10th, the PTA meeting is at 6:00. It is the Blue Pod's turn to perform at PTA. We will be singing a couple of songs with the other Blue Pods. It is not mandatory, but if you would like for your child to participate, please have them at their classroom by 5:45.
On Saturday, April 14th, Coosada's PTA will be hosting our Spring Fling. This is a great time for you to come out with your child and enjoy games, presentations, and lots of food! You will be getting a form next week so you can purchase a wristband for your child. This allows them to participate in games throughout Spring Fling. We are asking for parents to send in individually wrapped pieces of candy or small prizes to use at our game. It starts at 10:00 and ends at 2:00. We hope to see you all there!
Our last field trip for the year will be Monday, April 30th. We will be going to the Montgomery Zoo. The cost for each child is $13 and the cost for chaperones is $10.Be on the lookout for the permission slip and letter this coming up week . The money and permission slips are due April 23rd. The cost for children includes admission to the zoo, a train ticket, and a pass to feed the giraffes. The cost for chaperones includes admission to the zoo and a train ticket. Every class needs at least 5 chaperones to be able to go! Please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to attend. Again, we will be sending home the letter and permission slip this coming up week.
The last day for checks (for lunch, field trips, etc) will be April 23rd. After this date the school will no longer accept checks. Please plan accordingly!
As the weather gets hotter, we all want to start wearing our sandals and flip flops! However, please make sure that your child wears their tennis shoes to school. We have PE first thing in the morning and children are required to wear tennis shoes to PE, not flip flops. Your child may bring those to change into after PE.
Please also make sure that your child has a snack and juice, or money for each, every day. We've had a lot of children lately who do not have snack, money for snack, or they say they have forgotten their snacks at home. Please make sure your child has this daily!
I hope you all have a great week!
