I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
This is going to be a fun, busy week for us! We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss all week long. Each day has a specific theme and we will wear something to go along with each day. Here is the schedule for the week:
Monday: Wear Pajamas to School - I Am Not Going to Get Up Today by Dr. Seuss
Tuesday: Wear Silly.Mismatched Socks and your Dr. Seuss T-Shirt - Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss
Wednesday: Wear Wacky Clothing - Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss
Thursday: Wear Something Green - Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss
Friday: Costume Parade - Dr. Seuss' Birthday
*Our class will be doing the book Oh, The Places You'll Go. We will be dressing as what we want to be when we grow up. Please talk with your child about what they want to be and help them put together a costume for it. No Halloween costumes please!
The Book Fair will also be in the lunchroom all week long. You are welcome to come eat with your child and then take them through the book fair. You can also send money in their folder. If you do, please put it in an envelope marked "Book Fair" so I know where it belongs!
Thursday, March 1st is Family Reading Night. Pizza and drinks will be on sale starting at 5:30. First and Second grade choirs will be performing. The reading fun will begin at 6:00!
The kids have been bringing a lot of things home this week from our classroom. They all like to bring books, toys, and games home to share with you. I am glad they do! If they are bringing something home, it should be in a blue or pink bag. Please make sure these things are returned after a day or two. Thanks!
The Student Council is sponsoring a "Penny Drive" to assist the Bohannon Family and Chapman Family who recently lost their homes in a fire. Each class has a one gallon container in their rooms to fill with pennies or other coins. This project will run until the end of the month. Anything you can send is greatly appreciated!
When sending a check, please make sure your phone number is on it! Even if you send a check for yearbooks, shirts, or lunch, please make sure your phone number is on there. With our new check service, we must have a phone number!
I hope you all have a great week!
